TiDE
Description
Sound designer Setsuya KUROTAKI’s alter ego, Nicolie Binara, presents TiDE—a contemplative sonic piece born from the rhythmic tides of Santa Monica State Beach. Capturing the ebb and flow of the Pacific, KUROTAKI seamlessly weaves crystal bowls and improvisational elements into the natural resonance of the ocean.
The title TiDE reflects both the literal movement of water and the idea of a favourable turn of events or a moment of opportunity.
Proceeds from the original limited Bandcamp release were donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department in recognition of its response to the large-scale wildfires extinguished the previous month.
